The Religious Affairs Committee aims to get into

 “Good Trouble”.*

The Religious Affairs Committee works collaboratively with faith-based organizations as a reminder that every civil rights action in history that has been successful was made possible by people of all faiths standing together to improve the lives of the who are disenfranchised. The Religious Affairs Committee will work toward a shared mutual goal of striking down social injustice.

"We are not going back. We are going forward."

Congressman John Lewis

The UC of W.C. condemns the rising tide of hate speech & direct acts of violence against minority populations in our country, which violate the Unitarian Universalist principles of the inherent worth & dignity of all people, and justice, equity & compassion in human relations. 1. Black Lives Matter,

 2. Criminal Justice Reform,  &

3. The Social Justice Committee

  Faith Forward Initiative (#FaithForward).

The purpose of the initiative is to acknowledge and lift up the role of religious institutions as beacons of hope, healing and direct service providers in communities all across this country and the world.

Our path to creating a more just  world involves teaching people of  faith how to build and exercise their own power to address root causes of the daily injustices they face.

History of the Chester County History Center

Founded by local citizens in 1893, the Chester County History Center’s early years were occupied with collecting items of historical value, dedicating historical markers and searching for a permanent home. Those years created the nucleus of the current extensive library collections, which today include over 500,000 manuscripts, 20,000 volumes, and what one author in National Genealogical Society Quarterly called “one of the state’s best collections of newspaper clippings.”

Chester County Community Foundation Presents their "Food For Thought: Community Conversations" series, via Zoom at 12 (noon). Help envision a more equitable community where all can flourish.  Registration Link

LASP is guided by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, issued by the United Nations. LASP’s work in ensuring its clients housing rights are protected, that they have means to provide basic human needs for their families, that they have access to health care, protection from violence, and family stability, all may properly be classified as protecting, defending and advocating for, fundamental human rights.
